Bo Jackson (1988 – Topps #327)

Vincent Edward “Bo” Jackson was a 2-time All-American in 1983 and ’85 at Auburn University. In 1985 he was the Heisman Trophy winner as the best player in college football. He became a professional with the Los Angeles (now Oakland) Raiders of the NFL, He played for L.A. for 4 years, eventually supplanting Marcus Allen (himself a former Heisman Trophy winner) as the featured back in their offense. Maybe his greatest game was his 4th as a rookie. He rushed for 221 yards on Monday Night Football (still a record) including a 91 yard touchdown run. Bo rushed for 950 yards in only 9 starts in 1989, including a 92 yard run. Bo Jackson is a member of the College Football Hall Of Fame and his number has been retired by the Auburn Tigers.
