Brooks Robinson (1958 – Topps #307)

Brooks Calbert Robinson, Jr. Played 23 years (his entire career) as a 3rd baseman for the Baltimore Orioles and was the best I’ve ever seen, defensively, as well as a proven leader on offense. Brooks was the American League MVP in 1964 and won a record 16 consecutive Gold Gloves (the best defensive player at his position) from 1960 to 1975. He was an 18-time All-Star including 1966 when he was All-Star game MVP.   Robinson’s #5 uniform number has been retired by the Orioles. He was inducted into the baseball Hall Of Fame in 1983 (his first year of eligibility) and voted to the All-Century Team in 1999.

  1. Brooks Robinson was in my mind, the best 3rd baseman of all time. He played about 20+ yrs for the Baltimore Orioles and I cannot think of any other 3rd baseman at this time that was any better at this position as Robinson! He was as good as anyone in fielding and hitting and was always dangerous with the bat! You sure have some amazing cards of all the very best players, Jimmy! That is for sure! Pete Goddard 11/28/14 If these cards are in good or excellent condition, they are worth alot of money to an avid baseball card collector! Thanks for sharing these with me! PG
